PROGRAMS

The Foundation

Since 1944, the Li Foundation has provided financial aid to hundreds of outstanding Chinese scholars.

The Foundation works with top level Universities and Institutions in the United States and China to establish a variety of quality programs.

In every case, Li scholars are selected by the host institutions using a rigorous process involving a selection committee.

NOTE: The Li Foundation does not award grants directly to individuals.

The Programs

Colorado School of Mines
Sister relationship with Central South University of Technology (Changsha).  M.Sc. or Ph.D. candidates earn degree in metallurgical engineering at CSM.

Cornell University
A selection committee nominates the Li scholar.  The candidate earns a Ph.D. in biochemistry at Cornell.

Institute of Process Engineering (CAS)
Post-graduate scholar conducts studies in chemical or process engineering at a top U.S. institution.

Needham Research Institute
Fellowship objective is to enable a Chinese scholar to conduct research on the history of science, technology or medicine in China.

University of California (School of Pharmacy)
Grant allows scholars from Peking University’s Center for Theoretical Biology to study systems biology at UCSF.

Yali High School
Scholarships give poor Chinese students opportunity to study at famous Yali High School (Changsha).
